Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Lead Nursing House Supervisor. This position a ssists with the leadership of the various hospital departments by serving as a management and clinical resource, providing shift oversight and coordination of unit/hospital operations in collaboration with the respective Department Director(s) and Administration. Participates in activities related to patient care as needed during the assigned shift. Demonstrates critical thinking/clinical reasoning to ensure delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the hospital. Effectively communicates and collaborates both intra- and interdepartmentally with staff, directors, physicians, administration, and other healthcare team members. Serves as the liaison and leadership for the House Supervisors and Orderlies.
Job Duties:
Provides leadership and support for clinical operations and other hospital staff.
Maintains knowledge/ensures compliance of and serves as a resource for hospital policies and procedures, professional practice standards and regulatory body requirements.
Provides assistance for clinical decisions until Department Director and/or Unit Supervisor are available.
Serves/acts as a resource to both staff/team members and patients for clinical and ethical issues when Department Director or Unit Supervisor is unavailable.
Implements strategies to promote quality, efficient and cost-effective patient care.
Collaborates with Department Directors or Unit Supervisors with difficult staffing decisions.
Communicates with Department Directors and/or Administration when obtained information can affect patient safety and/or satisfaction.
Assists Wood County Coroner with deaths in hospital and in Wood County: medical record retrieval, inventory possessions, photograph deceased, assist grieving family, collaborate with Life Connections of Ohio for organ/tissue donation, facilitate funeral home and/or autopsy transportation.
Shift Details:
Hours: Full-Time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Days Shift, 6:45 am - 7:15 pm
Weekend rotation required, may need to work other shifts.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
Minimum License/Certification:
Current licensure to practice professional Nursing (RN) in the State of Ohio.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Preferred License/Certification:
Specialty certification in Nursing Executive Leadership strongly preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
