VCA Companion Animal Medical Center is looking to expand our team and is actively hiring a Lead Kennel Assistant .

　　Our Kennel Assistants serve as a support to clinical staff and play a vital role in patient care. Our Kennel Assistants share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal clientele and the highest quality care to our boarded and hospitalized pets. We believe our kennel assistants are an integral part of our hospital’s client and patient experience, which is why our leadership team supports our staff’s growth and truly believes in a work-life balance.

　　Snapshot of our Kennel Team:

　　· Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff

　　· Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients

　　· Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital, including laundry, emptying trash, washing dishes, kennels and runs, cleaning countertops, exam rooms, and floors

　　· Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked

　　· Observing patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reporting any findings to medical staff

　　· Maintain the kennel schedule

　　· Forecasting the Seasonal demands as it pertains to Boarding

　　· Manage and direct team

　　· Understanding body language and how to read a pet while boarding

　　· Pet restraint and holding

　　· Nail trims and Baths

　　Schedule: Full-time opportunities available with flexible scheduling.

　　Requirements and Qualifications:

　　· High school diploma or GED certificate

　　· Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care

　　· Familiarity with various dog breeds

　　· Passion for taking care of animals

　　· Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays

　　· Teamwork and communication skills

　　· Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining large play yards, such as being on your feet for duration of shift, ability to lift 40 lbs

　　· Understand vaccine protocol as it pertains to Boarding
