Job Description:
L3Harris is currently seeking to hire a Sustainment Engineer to lead logistics development and sustainment efforts across multiple military and civilian avionic/electronic development and sustainment programs. The candidate will be responsible for specialized tasks in one or more of the following engineering disciplines:
Acquisition/Sustainment Logistics
Sustainment Engineering
Reliability Engineering
Maintenance Planning
Resource/Supply Support Management
Essential Functions:
Responsible for specialized tasks in the following Integrated Product Support areas: sustainment engineering, supply support, maintenance planning and management, PHS&T (packaging, handling, storage and transportation), technical data, support equipment, training and training support, manpower and personnel, facilities and infrastructure and computer resources. Specifically, these tasks may include:
Develops Plans such as Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP), Maintenance Plan (Organizational level, Intermediate level, and Depot level), and Spares planning.
Defines and develops logistics support requirements, plans and schedules such as: Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Product Support Analysis (PSA), depot maintenance activation planning, and Bill of Material (BOM).
Performs life cycle cost, reliability, maintainability and availability analyses such as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
Establish/develop/update Logistic Product Databases (LPD).
Analyzes technical data and reports to determine/formulate specific recommendations regarding spare/repair parts and support equipment.
Provides technical/administrative direction and surveillance to properly identify and control design changes.
Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces original technical documentation.
Develops, organizes and manages delivery of technical training programs, related materials and/or interactive courseware for customer training.
Performs CAM (Cost Account Manager) and IPT (Integrated Product Team) Lead duties to include EVMS (Earned Value Management System) tracking and reporting.
The ideal candidate will be either (1) work full-time onsite in Clifton, NJ or (2) work full-time onsite Palm Bay, FL and have the ability to travel up to 25-50% to Clifton, NJ as needed for the role.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Demonstrated expertise in at least 4 of the following areas:Knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Process
Program/Project Management
Integrated Product Support Planning
Product Support & Sustainment
Configuration Management
Reliability & Maintainability Analysis
Technical/Product Data Management
Technical Training development and administration
Supportability Analysis; Level of Repair, Sparing, Maintenance Task Analysis
Organization, development and implementation of Life Cycle Sustainment Plan, or as appropriate, Integrated Support Plan
Organizational skills with a process focus
Competent in the use of computers, software programs and databases to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge of the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements
Proficiency in using LCC (Life Cycle Cost) modeling tools desired
Understanding of the business development process including development and support of pursuit and proposals to include Basis of Estimates (BOE) development
Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience
Strong coordination skills, organization skills, and detail orientation
Previous military, industry or government experience in the area of integrated product support and/or sustainment
Understanding and familiarity with information security practices
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
