Laundry attendants begin work at 8:30 am. Duration varies depending on the hotel occupancy. Although hours vary, laundry attendants must be prepared to work up to 8 hours each day.
Laundry attendants will start at the minimum wage.
Job Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for:
Unlocking storage closets and placing laundry carts in hallways for laundry collection.
Collecting, sorting, and pretreating soiled items.
Collect soiled pool towels from pool area.
Keeping laundry chute pulled and clear.
May be called upon to strip rooms of linens and towels.
Places soiled items into commercial washing machine, close and latch the washing machine door, set the controls to the proper settings for each load.
Transfers washed items from the washer to the commercial dryer.
Set the dryer timer and temperature to the proper settings for each load and press the start button.
Fold and distribute all clean linens, terrycloth items, blankets, decorative spreads, mattress pads and shower curtains to the housekeeping supply closets upstairs and downstairs.
Cleans the lint traps on the dryers several times each day.
Keeps laundry collection bins clean.
Cleans public areas and bathrooms.
Keeps storage closets cleaned, stocked and organized.
Empties outside trash cans and puts in new liners.
Helps put away supply deliveries.
Cleans laundry room, empties trash and mops the laundry room floor at the end of each day.
Puts housekeeping carts away at the end of the day.
Makes a round through the hallways just before leaving making sure all housekeeping closets are locked. Makes sure the laundry room doors are locked.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field.
Ability to add, subtract and do simple math.
Ability to read and understand written and verbal communications in English.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to situations.
Physical Requirements

Understand operation of commercial washing machines and commercial dryers.Change laundry chemical buckets and guestroom cleaning chemicals as needed.Collect, sort and pretreat soiled linens and towels prior to washing.Load and unload washer.Load and unload dryers.Fold linens and terrycloth items.Clean dryer lint screens several times daily and maintain all equipment.Wipe down machines and empty trash.Sweep and mop laundry room floor, empty trash can.Clean public restrooms and fill paper towel and soap dispensers as needed.Empty outside trash bins and transport trash to dumpster.Work as a team player and do not engage in workplace drama or gossip.Status: Part to Full-time
