　　Advertising/Posting Title Laboratory/Research Technician Senior

　　Posting Summary

　　Contribute to microbiology research on infectious diseases in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. The main duties are (i) conduct routine and complex laboratory experiments on the cellular and molecular biology of bacteria-mammalian cells interactions, (ii) provide operational oversight of laboratory activities and use and maintenance of laboratory and shared equipment; (iii) lead on problem solving, protocol writing and troubleshooting, workflow planning and functional supervision of staff, postdocs, graduate & undergraduate students and data analysis; (iv) serve as the primary resource, resident expert, and trainer on complex and specialized research techniques and equipment within the lab and department at large. The experiments will be centered on using molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, mammalian tissue culture, gene/protein expression analysis, fluorescence microscopy and other related methods.

　　Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

　　Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Genetics or related science and four years related experience required. Significant previous laboratory experience in biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology. Proficiency with computers, scientific software, spreadsheets and databases is essential. Effective organizational and time management skills required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required.
