This diverse and important role within Beverage R&D enables Keurig Dr Pepper to maximize the impact of the Keurig system synergy (beverage, pod, and appliance) to partners, customers, and consumers.
Our Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Laboratory Technician for a hands-on position to support the R&D Beverage Development Team in our Burlington, MA office. Responsibilities are broken down into 4 focus areas:
Lab Focus - Perform a variety of operational duties that span lab safety, facilities and infrastructure sustainment, technical instrument lifecycle management,
Project Focus - Support new product development from concept to release collaboratively with the team on testing, developing, coffee bench top development (roasting, grinding, analytics), and data collection operations.
Capability Focus – Enhance capabilities of the team through technical discovery and exploring the depths of what our equipment can do; using this expertise to provide comprehensive training to others.
Accountabilities
Assuring our operational aspects of the department are in line with KDP expectations (Environmental, Safety and Health).
Manages and then safely executes work requests, maintaining and running relevant testing equipment and documenting data.
Acts responsibly for calibration, safe operation and routine maintenance of simple and complex instruments, machinery, and system components.
Updates personal knowledge for proper use of equipment via manuals and job aids, logs maintenance activities and calibration results as required.
Preparing the lab for experiments, either through equipment/material purchases, maintenance, sample preparation, or working with others.
Either independently or in collaboration with a lead, determine and write experimental designs, capturing all data necessary in the development of new methods and process improvements.
Participate in sensory/benchtop product evaluations in support of on-site sensory testing.
Provides technical input and assists other team members with development and product evaluation.
Leading the tracking of preventative maintenance items to support planning and budget for the department.
General lab organization, cleaning, and inventory management.
Requirements
A minimum of an associate degree or 3 years of relevant experience in a related laboratory position required
Strong safety mentality and experience implementing preventative measures
Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, and other measurement equipment
Demonstrated creative troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
