　　About the team:

　　The technical teams include Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology. Departments include routine chemistry, special chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, bacteriology, virology, and parasitology. Additional rotations will include non-technical teams: accessioning, referrals, and specimen management.

　　Internship Assignment Summary

　　Learn to document work and laboratory records in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements.Provide, analyze, and discuss scientific data collected during specialized testing.Attend training sessions and work towards the specific competency levels required.Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment.Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your business acumen and professional presence.Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

　　Education/Qualifications/Skills

　　Must be enrolled in an undergraduate university working towards a bachelor's degree, or part of an associate degree program at a junior college.Excellent customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and effective communication skills.Conscientious, disciplined, flexible and adaptable, having a sense of responsibility and to ensure that work is performed accurately and precisely and in a timely manner.Able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.Ability to see the big picture and work towards that goal.Comfortability with handling biological specimens.Ability to accurately identify specimensBasic computer knowledge and data entry skillsPrevious lab classes is highly desirable

　　This is a 3rd shift position. Tuesday-Saturday 1am-9:30am.

　　Starting pay is $16.00/hr plus 15% shift differential
