　　Advertising/Posting Title Laboratory Research Technician

　　Posting Summary

　　Conduct laboratory experiments and provide general laboratory support employing a variety of biochemical and molecular biology techniques. Following general guidance of supervisor, plan and conduct day-to-day experiments with increasing independence. Provide general lab support to include preparation of solutions, order and inventory supplies, and maintain equipment. Assist with the preparation of figures and slides or to retrieve papers from the library.

　　Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

　　Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, or related science and one to two years of laboratory courses commensurate with the above degree required. Commitment to diversity and inclusion required.

　　Desirable Qualifications

　　Additional training in a productive biochemistry laboratory setting (either academic or industrial) highly desirable. Experience with cell culture desirable.

　　Special Conditions Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position
