LA I role will be responsible for entering patient and specimen information into computer system and will prepare laboratory specimens for designated locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing, there may be travel to other labs to provide coverage. As a LA I, you will have opportunity to grow/learn with other Laboratory Technicians or Technologists (Cytology and/or Histology).You will:* Perform support functions in the laboratory* Assess and accession laboratory specimens* Perform data entry and scan requisition images* Perform send-outs* Provide support services for other departments, clients, and pathologists* Ensure quality control data entry* Perform other related duties as assigned, including cross training in other shifts or department (flexible scheduling is appreciated)Qualifications* High school diploma or equivalent* Laboratory experience along with medical terminology knowledge, preferred* Possess competency with computers and MS Office programs* Interest and effective data entry experience* Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing* Excellent organizational skills & attention to details* Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards* Willingness to be cross trained in other departments, as a Lab. Actual salary will be based on a variety f factors including relevant expereince,knowledge, skill and other factors as permitted by law.
