Job Description:
The scope of the IT GEMS contract includes a full range of information technology (IT) services which include necessary hardware, software, and ancillary, components to support enterprise-level programs and environments. Support service areas include program management support, policy, procedures, and operations support, IT core services support, security compliance, customer and client services support, transformational IT support, and application migration support.
Laboratory Manager WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Supervises and manages the Lab Support team and activities to ensure smooth operations of the lab environments. Responsibilities include supporting, maintaining, and controlling access to physical on-site labs and test environments at specified Government locations, ensuring they are scalable and appropriately connected to the Internet. Independently makes decisions regarding automating common processes to create efficiencies and reduce overall labor costs. Provide a quarterly report detailing automation efforts and anticipated decreases to labor costs.
As part of the management team, makes recommendations on automation tools and capabilities with a preference on SaaS solutions that will increase the automation capabilities for DHRA. Maintains the lab environments during DMDC's core business hours and supports outside of core hours and unscheduled accesses with Government approval, as needed. Schedules, coordinates, and plans the usage of lab resources using existing tools (SharePoint or ServiceNow). As part of the management team, collaborates closely with our on-site Network and Telecommunications team to provision and maintain the network infrastructure and with our on-site Systems Administration team to provision, configure, and maintain lab equipment, including returning the lab to its baseline configuration.
Develops and maintains SOPs, TTPs, and KBAs to guide lab users and support staff and stores them in our QMS on SharePoint. Collaborates with our Cybersecurity team to ensure appropriate security controls are in place and respond to critical incidents that may affect lab operations. As part of our CSI2 program, identifies areas for process improvement within lab operations and implement approved enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Education Requirements:
5-8 years’ experience, BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience
