Overview
BlueHalo is looking for a Lab Manager / Technician for an AFRL Research & Development contract and will be an integral member of a joint government and contractor team that operates in a very dynamic environment. The laboratory manager / technician administers all activities crucial for work in a research or test laboratory. This can include reviewing and developing laboratory procedures, machine and equipment maintenance schedules, dealing with safety and quality issues and external collaboration, as needed. The laboratory manager / technician will operate and maintain multiple AFRL-owned radiation sources, and assist customers with experiment planning, setup, and execution of experiments. The laboratory manager / technician will be part of the radioactive materials permit, and other facility duties as-needed in coordination with the Government Laboratory Manager.

Maintains a safe and healthy laboratory environment during all research of test activities performed in connection with the contract
Complies with applicable State, Federal, Air Force, Kirtland AFB, and AFRL safety and environmental standards and regulations, and documents compliance
Supports laboratory research activities, provides support for tests and experiments
Investigates, assists in developing and selects policies procedures for the laboratory, buildings and offices used by the program
Helps establish and enforces "best practices" for the laboratory, buildings and offices used by the program
Servers as alternate building and facility manager in support for Government Laboratory Manager
Provides support to other tasks in coordination with the Government Laboratory Manager Preferred
Requires minimum oversight to accomplish directed
You’re required to have this
Associates Degree or equivalent relevant technical experience
Directly related experience with KAFB or AFRL facilities / organizations
Active Department of Defense Security Clearance and must be able to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
Supervisory experience in a laboratory environment
Basic Understanding of Fundamental Electronics
Use of Oscilloscopes, power supplies, wave/function generators, and other testing equipment
Work in basic machine shop (lathe, end mill, belt sander, band saw)
