We are seeking a skilled accountant to work on fixed assets, implement ROI, and review and recommend lease changes accordingly.
POSITION SUMMARY
Leads multi-facility and multi-company financial decision support for Laboratory Sciences of Arizona and Sonora Quest Laboratories by providing all levels of management with information necessary for use in planning, controlling and improving operations, and making strategic decisions. This position will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks for fixed assets and leases located across multiple company entities, including maintaining fixed asset and lease listings, reconciling financial schedules to the general ledger, and maintaining our asset ledger.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Manage the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, and disposals. Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and reclassifications. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Conduct periodic physical asset verifications.
Manage the accounting of the property, equipment, and vehicle lease portfolio including, evaluating lease contracts, preparing lease classification analyses, and maintaining lease schedules.
Collaborate with various departments to review and analyze capital expenditure requests, preparing comprehensive return on investment analyses to ensure alignment with company objectives. Provide business decision support through preparation of comprehensive lease vs. buy analyses. Identify opportunities for process improvement in fixed asset and lease management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations related to fixed asset and lease accounting. Assist in the preparation of annual audited financial statements, including fixed asset and lease footnote disclosures and supporting schedules, while proactively responding to audit inquiries from the accounting firm.
Develop, enhance and maintain the process to tag fixed assets. Contribute to the development and maintenance of written policies and procedures for functions and duties performed.
Prepare monthly journal entries to properly classify and record fixed assets, depreciation expense, lease assets, lease liabilities, and lease expenses in the general ledger.
Prepare, analyze, and present the Executive Team with the next year's budgets and forecasts for all capital projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields.
Five (5) years’ experience in an analytical financial/accounting environment, including demonstrated abilities in fixed asset/lease accounting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year supervisory/leadership experience.
Additional related education and/or experience.
