Join a dynamic team dedicated to healing, recovery, and reimaginingmental health treatment. The Kitchen Manager works as a member of amultidisciplinary team that contributes to each guest\'s treatment andrecovery. Reporting to the Work Program Director, the Kitchen Manager isresponsible for the operation of the Gould Farm kitchen facility, whichfeeds approximately 60 to 100 people per day, three meals per day.Kitchen Operations - Assume a leadership role in effectively preparingnutritious meals and operating a dynamic, safe, and efficient workenvironment. - Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization ofthe kitchen, upholding local, state, and federal health codesregulations, and standards. - Plan weekly menus that adhere to thehighest nutritional standards and afford options to serve a variety ofdietary needs. - Plan and prepare meals for special holidays andevents. - Schedule kitchen staff, volunteers, and guests during bothwork program and non-work program hours. - Order food and supplies, andmanage inventory, including coordinating with other departments at theFarm to ensure integration of Farm products into food service. - Provideleadership to the Gould Farm commitment to health and wellness forguests, including working with the Farm wellness committee and staff,and responding to feedback from the larger community regarding food andnutrition-related issues. Training and Support of Guests in WorkProgram - Creating, managing, and maintaining a supportive andchallenging work program for guests. - Participate in treatment planningand implementation related to skill development of guests. - Explore anddevelop new recipes that will support skill-building for guests andfeature the use of Gould Farm resources/products reflecting themission. - Train guests in safe food handling and sanitation. -Effectively communicating with other teams about the flow of resourcesand products for use in kitchen production, specifically Bakery, Garden,and Farm. Administration - Meet weekly with the Work Program Directorfor ongoing supervision to support professional growth and competency. -Serve in a leadership role, supervising and supporting kitchen staff,volunteers, and per diem staff. - Attend and participate in regularlyscheduled staff and community meetings. - Participate in ongoingtraining to meet performance expectations. - On-Call duties after 6months of service. Qualifications: This position requires residency atthe Farm in employer-provided housing as a condition of employment.Should suitable housing not be available at the time of hire, anagreement to move to the Farm as soon as suitable housing is availableis a contingency of employment. 3-5 years experience in food preparationand management, cooking for large groups, menu planning, scheduling andsupervising the work of others. Excellent communication skills,interpersonal skills and a team player. Must be willing to promote thevalues and spirit of Gould Farm, to actively participate as a member ofthe community and to continuously seek ways to improve, both self andfunction. Compensation: Salary range is\$40,000-\$60,000, based on experience, with a great benefits packageincluding medical/dental insurance (employer pays 85% of premiums and upto 100% of deductible), life insurance, generous Paid Time Off (PTOincludes 5 weeks of vacation and holidays the first two years and 6weeks thereafter), generous sick time accrual, 401K, low cost on-campushousing including utilities, generous food benefit including preparedmeals 3X a day and access to basic pantry items and Farm made products.
