The Keystone Internship will be between 225-300 hours and last 10 weeks between May 13, 2024 and August 23, 2024.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis summer internship will provide practical day-to-day experience working on educational program offerings at Pennsbury Manor, a museum accredited by AAM. The internship will consist of working with staff to execute school tour programming until the middle of June. The site is a non-traditional classroom and it is used to help teach visitors about the life and legacy of William Penn. The successful intern applicant will also assist with summer history camp in July and help plan and execute a US Citizenship ceremony hosted at the Manor. Experience in day-to-day operations, as well as special events will be part of this internship.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:Internship (temporary part-time)Work Schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday - Thursday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:You must be currently enrolled, or will be enrolled in a college or university full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program by the start of the internship.You must be in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or higher).Additional Requirements:You must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.You must currently be enrolled, or will be enrolled at a college or university undergraduate or graduate program for the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 academic term by the start of the internship.You must be able to work in or commute to Morrisville, Pennsylvania.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):Possess work, academic, or volunteer experience.Currently majoring, minoring, or have a concentration in History, Public History, Museum studies or Library and Information Sciences.Legal Requirement:This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.How to Apply:Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
