ABOUT THE POSITION
Your role as a Key Account Specialist - ILD in your designated territory is pivotal to our success.
You will promote Boehringer Ingelheim's products across Specialist Key Accounts. Working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the ILD franchise, you will formulate strategic account plans to enhance and improve patient access to our specialised products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead on the creation and delivery of strategic account plans demonstrating a high degree of business acumen, allied to a deep understanding of our therapy area and evolving NHS environment.
Develop trusted partnerships across health economies by developing effective and sustainable business relationships with all relevant healthcare professionals as well as other strategic decision makers.
Utilising available resources to identify opportunities and engage customers with a holistic value story and deliver specific tactics to support appropriate local uptake of medicines in line with the Franchise objectives.
Work collaboratively for a ONE TEAM approach to support Strategic Account Management to engage the NHS at a ‘System Level’ for the benefit of Boehringer Ingelheim brands.
To be conversant with the ABPI codes, BIUKIE SOPS and ensure adherence to them.
KEY ACTIVITIES FOR THIS ROLE:
Creates and implements goals and objectives within a system account plan that is brand or disease area specific, in line with the ABPI and/or IPHA code of practice.
Performs detailed and insight led opportunity analysis into health economies to develop and lead, in collaboration with the cross functional Team Lead, account plans which deliver on business goals.
Achieves expert level knowledge and understanding of NHS/Ireland HSE, local guidelines, and their impact to the local health economy.
Develops and maintains relationships with key decision makers and is regarded by customers as an expert in environmental, therapeutic and brand knowledge.
Proactively source market intelligence and insights, merging this awareness with knowledge of BI strategies to ensure we anticipate and lead the market.
Maximises access for appropriate patients on local formularies and guidelines (e.g., delivery of payer value story, formulary packs, capacity planning tools.
Identifies and proactively raises opportunities which deliver change, creates value, and offers unique customer solutions (both local and cross functional) at population health level.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Specialty Pharma sector experience in Strategic/Key Account Management.
Understanding both national and local priorities, and their impact at a local level
Developing and implementing industry leading account plans, drawing on cross functional resources
Creating an optimal environment for brand uptake through influencing key stakeholders, local formularies/guidance, local allocation of funding, and shaping of the market.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Educations/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in life science Ideally, life sciences-related degree, or equivalent.
(ABPI) Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry qualified.

This position is field-based covering West Midlands, Derby, Stoke, Staffordshire and S Wales
Ideally a clean driving license
Market access experience is beneficial.
