Summary
Develop enhancements for browser-based web applications, as well as SOAP / RESTful web service applications, built on J2EE technologies. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the required skills detailed below. Team members work on cross-functional scrum teams using the SAFe Agile methodology. Day-to-day work will include:
Write Java code to implement features and address bugs.
Perform developer unit testing to ensure functionality meets requirements.
Participate in peer code reviews.
Work with SQA Testers to process bug reports and communicate bug fixes.
Collaborate with senior technical leads on solution design.
Participate in daily scrum calls to report status, identify obstacles, and collaborate on solutions.
Participate in sprint planning activities to estimate work required to meet objectives.
Required Skills
Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a full time Java Developer
Traditional application development using full-stack J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) technologies, including:
Browser-based web applications and Springboot web applications
RESTful / SOAP based web services
Develop features and bug fixes using Java 8 SDK
Interactive debugging of enterprise application features for root cause analysis
Spring Framework
Spring MVC (Model View Controller)
Hibernate ORM (Object Relational Mapping)
JSP (Java Server Pages)
Basic Red Hat Enterprise Linux command line operations (e.g., navigating file system, running scripts, viewing log files, etc.)
Basic Application Server operations (e.g., start/stop application server, deploy/un-deploy ear file, etc.)
Eclipse
Git Source Control
Maven
Basic Jenkins build server operations (e.g., initiate build, check status of build, download build for deployment, etc.)
HTML5
JavaScript (e.g., Dojo.js framework, etc.)
Participate in design discussions with Technical Team Leaders
Individual contributor on Agile Scrum Team
Participate in sprint planning sessions to clarify work required to meet established goals
Maintain status of work using JIRA activities
