Junior Technical Program Manager Location: Rochester, NY Duration: 18 months Description: As a Junior Technical Program Manager within Client, you will coordinate new software, embedded firmware and electronic hardware features for several concurrent programs within Core R&D. Work with Electronic Engineers, RF engineers, Systems Engineers and Embedded Software Engineers to create feature rollout plans to meet the platform deliverables within product development phases. Identify the risks, mitigations, and contingency plans for new features. Work closely with Client business units, tool owners, and other technical support groups in cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities : Ensures that specific project and program objectives are defined for areas of responsibility, and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of completion. Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeliness for completion. Develops project plan and oversees the projects from conception and planning to implementation, including strategies, processes, and resources. Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution. Position requirements : Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred (Masters or MBA a plus, but not required). Have 3+ years’ experience in a Program Manager or Functional Manager role which involved direct (internal) customer and/or partner interaction. Strong planning and organizations skills; must be able to set and manage priorities, adapt to change, track progress of activities, issues, risks and deliverables to closure. Able to act decisively and make clear timely decisions which are in the best interests of the program. Be creative and innovative. Demonstrate a willingness to explore new options to bridge program challenges or improve processes. A nature of staying focused on solutions and ability to remain positive even under pressure. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, foster teamwork and bridge differences to achieve the program goals. Preferred Qualifications : 3+ years’ experience with program management tools such as dashboards, Gantt charts, etc. Experience with program management tools such as dashboards, Gantt charts, Smartsheets etc. Experience and familiarity with embedded SW and electronics is preferable. Working experience using JIRA and Confluence tools is preferable.
