We are looking for a Junior Software Developer eager to help make Government IT systems perform better, integrate better, and be more secure. This position will be located in Herndon, VA area.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be able to do the following:

Writing code

Analyze, design, develop, integrate, test, document and deploy Java code

Configuration Management/Version Control

Software Delivery Cycle

Existing Code vs Scratch

Reviewing code ; Unit Testing, Peer Reviews

Application enhancements

Documentation

Detailed Design Documentation

Software Change Requests

High Level Designs

Problem Analysis

Bug fixes

Proposed Solutions

Software Change Requests

Basic Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret security clearance must have a current U.S. Secret clearance and a Special Background Investigation no more than 5 years old. Clearances must be transferrable, and applicants must pass government approval to work on the project.

Must be willing to submit to a counter-intelligence polygraph.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

2 or more years experience

Experience working with Java 7 or 8

Experience writing complex SQL queries

Experience working in an Oracle or other RDBMS environment

Desired Qualifications:

Ability to support development using C++ Experience writing reports using BIRT

Experience with Momentum Financial Systems

Individuals that like challenges and are eager to learn new concepts and skills

Communicate ideas, concerns and status with other team members

Experience working in special access required and/or sensitive compartmented information environments.

Physical Requirements:

The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office.

The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
