Job Description
The Fifth Judicial District has an immediate opening in Court Administration for a Judicial Specialist providing Courtroom Technology Support and Courtroom Support. Starting salary is $1,444.00 biweekly or $37,544.00 annually.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Operate digital recording equipment and related software to capture and store the official record during court proceedings.
Accurately and expeditiously enters log notes into the recording management program during court proceedings, manages the storage and record keeping of the digital recordings.
Prepares orders, schedules court hearings, performs case research, general office work and provides substantial clerical support for the Court.
Prepares the courtroom for proceeding and provides court attendant services.
Travel and weekend work may be required.

Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service.
At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education. Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
