Position Summary
As a Jr Devops Engineer, you will be responsible for the repeatable deployments of features and infrastructure that modify our existing software products, creating new repeatable deployments and infrastructure of features for products that do not yet exist. This position provides support to other departments within the company and directly to Neptune Technology Group customers.
Responsibilities
Building and setting up new deployment tools and infrastructure
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Deploy updates and fixes
Provide Level 2 technical support
Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
Perform root cause analysis for production errors
Investigate and resolve technical issues
Develop scripts to automate deployments
Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Experience
2+ years of experience deploying software into production.
Experience as a Devops Engineer or similar software engineering role.
Experience deploying software to AWS.
Experience building and administering Kubernetes clusters
Working knowledge of SQL/RDMBS.
Proficient with git and git workflows.
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Continued professional self-improvement or education.
Understanding of IIS and Apache and how it hosts applications.
Understanding of n-tier software implementations.
Experience with C# or other .NET Framework language.
Experience with MSTest and unit test automation with Visual Studio.
Experience with RESTful web service development.
Experience with Angular.js or Backbone.js.
Experience with a service-oriented architecture.
Experience in an iterative development environment.
Experience with high-availability environments.
Education
A Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field. A lack of degree can be supported by an accomplished career in building software systems at scale.Location: Duluth, GA
