Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounting Analyst to join the finance team of a leading firm in the fuel industry, representing a client of Robert Half. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional to gain valuable experience and contribute to the financial success of our client's operations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
Assist in analyzing financial data and trends related to the fuel industry.
Prepare reports and summaries to support decision-making.
Cost Analysis:
Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Work collaboratively with teams to optimize operational expenses.
Accounts Reconciliation:
Reconcile accounts and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Budget Support:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for various projects.
Track expenses and provide insights into budget variances.
Financial Reporting:
Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Generate ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed.
Data Entry and Maintenance:
Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Entry-level position, prior internship or coursework in accounting is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and learn quickly.
Interest in the Fuel Industry: A strong interest in the fuel industry and a willingness to learn industry-specific accounting practices.
