We are currentlyseekingon-call Archaeological Field Technicians for projects in theIntermountain West (WY, CO, ID) and the Southwest (NM, AZ,TX). The position is hourly, and hours may vary depending onproject-specific w

  Pay rate will range between $22 - $28 per hour and will be based onindividual qualifications, experience, and assigned project role.

  Selected applicants will conduct archaeological fieldwork includingmonitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery under the supervision ofField Directors and/or Principal Investigators. Applicants must be able toperform all field tasks associated with survey, archaeological siterecording, post-field site form completion, and digital photography. Staffwill be expected to assist with mapping cultural resources in the field,including collection of GPS data using Trimble units or Arc Collector,digital photography, and recording resources on appropriate state forms andtab

  Responsibilities and Minimum Requirements:

  Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field is required.

  Completed an archaeology field school.

  Some experience in CRM preferred.

  Experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including survey,testing, excavation, and monitoring in the Intermountain West and Southwest.

  Experience with Field Maps, tablets, ArcGIS, and other computer-basedprograms such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  Attention to detail and self-motivation a must.

  Strong writing and editing skills with ability to complete cultural resourceforms/documents in a timely manner.

  Prepared to travel in any of the Intermountain West and Southwest forprolonged field work.

  Ability to conduct fieldwork carrying gear (35 lbs.+) up to 10 miles perday for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, remote locations,and rugged terrain.

  Experience with the identification of a variety of prehistoric and historicresource types, flora, fauna, and human remains identification.

  Self-motivated, respectful of others, positive, energetic, and abilityto work and participate in a team environment.

  Current valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a 4wdvehicle on rugged, backcountry roads.

  First Aid training.

  A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations isrequired, along with a physical if needed.

  Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record withoutrestrictions.

  Compensation:

  Salary commensurate with experience.

  Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00 hr.

  Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determiningfinal pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant workexperience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills,certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role;geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisionsregarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

  Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  Has ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting andcarrying objects weighing 35 lbs. and have a tolerance for working in outdoorenvironments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain ina wide range o weather conditions.

  Performs manual labor including excavation with shovels.

  Availability to work extended field rotations (sometimes 10-12 days at atime).
