Journeyman MachinistPenn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for full-time Journeyman Machinists in our Components Manufacturing team. Analyze tasks and establish an appropriate sequence of operationsRead blueprints and job orders for product specifications, number of parts to be machined, material specifications, machining stock, and due datesCheck supplies to make sure there's enough material to finish each jobSet up and operate various manual and 5-axis CNC lathes and CNC millsSelect correct tooling, speeds and feed rates for each operation according to requirements and knowledge of metal properties and abrasivesVerify dimensions of ground work piece for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks and load test equipmentCheck machines for proper maintenance and preparation before starting each jobMachine components to blueprint specifications and stock allowancesOperate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipmentMust meet speed expectations to ensure productivityQualifications:Journeyman papers or a minimum of four years of precision machining experience requiredWillingness to cross train on different equipmentExcellent blueprint reading, understanding of GD& T, mechanical and math abilitiesExperience with CNC lathes and millsAbility to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators and comparatorsCommitment to quality, speed and accuracy, and maximizing acceptable product percentagesAble to work well independently and cooperatively with teamsAble to communicate effectively with all levelsCandidates must be able to work shifts, lift up to 40 lbs., and stand 8-10 hours per day.Committed to safety, team development, and product and service excellenceAble to comprehend written or verbal proceduresHigh school diploma or GED minimumCompensation & benefits:Penn United Technologies currently employs over 700 people in our employee-owned precision manufacturing company, located about 35 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Butler County.
