Purpose of Position

　　The purpose of this position is to clean county owned and leased buildings.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities

　　The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.

　　Cleans building areas including offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, lunch rooms, lobbies and hallways. Washes floors and cleans carpets; dust furniture, pictures, etc; washes interior windows; empties trash cans; cleans sinks, microwaves, refrigerators and coffee pots, etc.Replaces light bulbs as required. Monitors cleaning supply inventory. Picks up mail and takes to post office.Reports all deficiencies or needed repairs to Maintenance Director. Supervised work-release inmates and community service workers.Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

　　High school graduate or GED with two to four years janitorial experience in a commercial buildings or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

　　Minimum Physical Abilities and Mental Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Physical Requirements

　　Ability to operate a variety of building cleaning equipment and climb ladders. Ability to lift 100 pounds.

　　Mathematical Ability

　　Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and all related math functions.

　　Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication

　　Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with office personnel and prison workers.Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.Environmental Adaptability

　　Ability to work during the evenings.
