Position:  Perform a variety of custodial tasks, including mopping, washing, dusting, polishing, cleaning, and setting up. Maintenance and repair work requiring handyman abilities, in the cleaning and care of one or more public buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks. This position has been evaluated for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and is subject to premium pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a payroll week. This position is 40 hours per week at $15.00 an hour. 

　　Responsibilities: 

　　Performs repairs and recurrent routine maintenance work requiring handyman abilities. 

　　Sets up equipment and seating facilities for public meetings, seminars, demonstration projects, etc

　　Requisitions and dispenses household supplies, such as paper towels and soaps.

　　Reports damages or needed maintenance repair, in assigned area, for which a higher level repair capability is needed.

　　Recycling Program: Gather recyclables from various recycling locations. When full load is gathered, take to appropriate recycling plant.

　　Mow lawns and assist with landscaping duties when assigned.

　　Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.

　　Safety: Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols.

　　Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

　　Requirements:

　　High School diploma or equivalent.

　　Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and to communicate verbally for the purpose of exchanging information.

　　Additional Knowledge/Skills:

　　Working knowledge of the use of small hand tools.

　　Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances.

　　Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

　　Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products.

　　Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for long periods of time.

　　Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor.

　　Ability to verbally communicate for the purpose of exchanging information.

　　Essential Functions: With or without reasonable accommodations the incumbent must be able to read and write and speak the English language at a college level, be capable of performing sometimes complex mathematical calculations, statistical calculations and other higher mathematical operations, must be able to communicate with all levels of the institution in written and spoken form. The individual must be able to work independently. The ability to maintain regular and prompt attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Other essential functions may be required.

　　Physical Environment: Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; Artificial lifts, etc. may or may not be available. The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus. The Campus is located in an area that contains numerous hills and slopes and may not always be fully accessible for mobility impaired individuals.
