Role Description
An IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing technology projects throughout their lifecycle. This includes defining project objectives, scope, and deliverables, identifying risks and dependencies, and developing comprehensive project plans. They lead cross-functional project teams, manage resources and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Additionally, they collaborate with stakeholders to align projects with business goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain effective communication and reporting. The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in driving successful technology implementations that support the banking industry's objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Role Objectives: Delivery
Manage end-to-end delivery of a defined project or portfolio of projects.
Define project stakeholders, scope, timing, resource requirements and deliverables. Implement standardized templates and communication channels to drive transparency and consistency across project effort.
Establish project management office (PMO) and assign clear roles and responsibilities to establish ownership of project work-streams and deliverables. Identify and mobilize subject matter experts throughout the organization to contribute as required.
Monitor delivery throughout the life of the project and assess outcomes to ensure completeness and sustainability. Modify project plan and/or timelines as necessary in coordination with business stakeholders.
Continuously monitor adherence to project budget and address areas of potential overrun. Secure additional funding for project if required and available.

Form strong partnerships with business stakeholders to agree and refine project scope, timelines and target deliverables.
Promote coordination between project work-streams to ensure alignment and awareness of over-arching project objectives.
Partner with impacted process owners to inform project delivery and objectives. Share expected outcomes and impact assessments to encourage buy-in on target end state.
Cultivate and maintain internal network of subject matter experts to advise on questions and contribute to project delivery as required.
Align with project management teams in other regions or business verticals to share best practice and collaborate on cross-divisional or cross-regional initiatives as
appropriate.

Leverage excellent organizational skills to establish and manage well-structured project teams with clear roles and responsibilities.
Employ communication skills to articulate a clear vision of project deliverables and encourage buy-in across all stakeholder groups, including business leadership, process owners and infrastructure partners.
Continuously solicit feedback and insights from stakeholders and subject matter experts to inform improvements to project plans.

Qualifications and Skills
Formal project management expertise and knowledge of project management methodology/SDLC/PLC processes in IT financial services environments.
Experience in managing complex IT processes and projects across multiple business and technical areas.
Demonstrated working knowledge of end-to-end IT processes.
Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with business users, IT partners and vendors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences.
Able to work well autonomously and be a complete self-starter.
Experience working with technology vendors to implement application, infrastructure or security product solutions.
3 to 5 years of specialized experience in Financial Services
Required BA/BS in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or Management of Information System concentration is preferred
Licenses /Certifications - PMI certification or the equivalent is advantageous
Software Systems / Programming Languages: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Enterprise Resource Management tools, CMMI/ITIL/COBIT is preferred; Agile Methodology / Framework
