Austin Energy’s Technology and Data (AE-Tech & Data) is seeking an IT Corporate Manager to:
Oversee and manage the Enterprise Applications division.
Partner with the Tech & Data business leaders.
Be a champion for a customer-focused culture.
The IT Corporate Manager oversees and manages Enterprise Application operations teams focused on safety, cybersecurity, compliance, reliability and continuous optimization of service delivery to enable business capabilities. Focused Enterprise Application support areas include GIS , Outage Management, Meter-to-Cash, Workday, SailPoint, Meter Data Management System, Maximo, Mobile Workforce Management and Oracle CC&B. Additional responsibilities include IT resource allocation to projects/operational efforts and technology life-cycle planning and management.
This position partners with Tech & Data business leaders to drive alignment regarding the expected value of the technology strategic portfolio and focuses investments on delivering positive and measurable business outcomes.
As a champion for a customer-focused culture, the IT Corporate Manager’s responsibilities include focusing on team members for continuous improvement, ultimately translating to an improved customer experience.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Partnering, planning, and administering budgets and technology contracts.
Maintaining team schedules, assigning tasks, reviewing/monitoring work assignments.
Collaborating with Human Resources to acquire new talent and conduct semi-annual performance evaluations.
Communicate with various audiences (written/verbal/presentation)

TRAVEL :
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. If you meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite, you may be eligible to drive a city vehicle to and from multiple work locations.
Pay Range
$51.07 – $67.04 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40-hour work week)
Additional work hours may be required to support 24-hour utility operations.

Experience supporting and maintaining core enterprise applications, including but not limited to on-premise, cloud, application support tools, integrations and interfaces.
Experience managing organizational change.
Experience managing application lifecycles.

Experience developing and maintaining an annual budget.
Experience and ability communicating effectively, both verbal and written, to diverse audiences, including non-technical personnel.
Knowledge and experience directing and leading IT professionals, to include development of IT staff.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Determines the goals and continuity of program service within broad outlines
Develops strategies, direction and priorities for service delivery
Manages enterprise program areas, supervises supervisors and coordinates with other managers
Manages the support of corporate services
Monitors, prepares and presents reports, budgets, and performance measures
Manages and coordinates enterprise projects with technical solutions
Prepares and evaluates Request for Proposals
Participates and manages enterprise contracts
Participate with other City departments, project teams and agencies to ensure compliance with City of Austin personnel, security and department policies
Responsibilities- Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised:
Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and user services
Knowledge in analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems and to communicate information and ideas
Knowledge of business and enterprise management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of City of Austin ( COA ) budget processes
Knowledge of COA ordinances, administrative rules, and regulations affecting department operations and personnel matters
Knowledge of current complex and enterprise IT systems and data systems technology, security, operations, and practices
Skill in organizing complex work of larger groups effectively and efficiently
Skill in understanding the organization and operation of the City and department as necessary
Skill in conducting hardware and software evaluations, performing selection and acquisition functions
Skill in enterprise vendor management and development of collaborative relationships
Ability to develop, implement, and administer a budget, prepare budget requests, and monitor expenditures for budgetary compliance
Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions, and to determine how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures
Ability to read and interpret standard accounting and financial reports
Ability to conduct research and analyze and interpret research findings
Ability to compile data and prepare narrative and statistical correspondence, reports, and presentations
