PURPOSE:The Inventory Variance Researcher will research and action inventory inquiries and reports to ensure accurate inventory. This position will collaborate with Procurement and local Operations leadership to identify shrink trends and provide recommendations. This position will also help support inventory projects and programs to ensure accuracy and in compliance with service levels.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Review and process penalty box items, identify trends and make recommendations to Operations leaders regarding potential coaching or training opportunitiesReviews and actions daily reports to including but not limited to: Daily Inventory Change, Negative Inventory, Daily Inventory Evaluation, and other inventory related reportsCollaborates with Procurement to resolve excess inventory concernsReconcile store returns and make necessary adjustments within the inventory systemPrepare returns for pickup, verifying items and case countsReviews and develops inventory control standard operating procedures as appropriateIdentifies and resolves all internal shrink concernsAct as an inventory lead as needed in close partnership with Operations leadershipPerforms other relevant job duties as requiredJOB REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED requiredCapability of being licensed in operating powered industrial equipmentExperience:2-3 years of experience in in both mechanized and conventional warehousing, picking and storage operations in dry grocery and perishable areas(required)Experience as a selector or lift operator (strongly preferred)Knowledge:Understanding of safety guidelinesUnderstanding of paperwork and reporting methods related to tracking inventoryKnowledge of warehouse slotting system requiredStrong knowledge of applicable warehouse management, system and RF systemSkills/ Abilities:Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and report financial dataAbility to partner with a wide variety of people both in person and virtuallyAbility to problem solve and collaborate to seek resolutionStrong communication skills; both written and oral applicationsStrong interpersonal skills; must be motivated and take initiativeDeal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephoneAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersAbility to be detail oriented and manage multiple tasksProficiency in PC software tools for reports, analysis, and audits.
