About INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will evaluate supply and inventory management database reports to monitor compliance with system requirements and procedures. You will analyze inventories to forecast operation needs. You will conduct inventories (e.g., monthly, annual, cyclic, special purpose) to maintain supplies at acceptable stock levels. You will brief management officials or representatives on a program status in situations where new methods may be controversial. You will collaborate with equipment specialists, engineers, and cognizant personnel to verify descriptive data and usage information of supply parts. You will document disposal papers for excess materials and equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying inventory management policies and procedures to maintain control and accountability of all material received, issued, stored, and disposed, while maintaining inventory record accuracy and auditability; 2) Using automated information systems, business logistics applications and software such as Microsoft Office suite, a supply management system, GSA systems and FedMall to retrieve, process, and analyze data and orders; and 3) Communicating both orally and in writing to develop local supply and inventory management procedures and reports. Incumbent will work in covered and open storage areas when reviewing storage and warehousing operations. Employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, high noises or chemical fumes area. Employee may be required to wear safety shoes and eyewear and other personal protective equipment (PPE). A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. This position may require you to report in person for an established amount of days per pay period.
