Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Robotics Engineering Intern.
What you’ll do:
Position Overview:
Perform operations required to develop new robotic operator training and standard work. Checks completed parts to ensure compliance to Worcester Plant Quality standards and makes necessary adjustments when required to meet quality goals.
In this function you will:
• Develop robot operator training program
• Develop robot maintenance standard work and training for maintenance team
• Develop robot programing standard work
• Convert the furniture robot to make Microsoft parts
• Duplicate the “BOX” fixture
• Investigate option to introduce automated system to bring box, column, intermediate carts from welding area to paint instead of using forklift
• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist team in achieving plant and department goals by flexing when needed.
• Support on-the-job training and continuous improvement.
• Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
• General knowledge of Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS).
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographic area (50-mile radius) will be considered.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
Preferred Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED-equivalent.
• Currently pursuing BS or MS Robotics Engineering degree
Position Criteria:
• Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures, blueprints, and work orders.
• Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
• Knowledge of basic shop math, assembly, and configuration.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to use measuring equipment, hand and power tools or saw.
• Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use a crane once fully trained to lift items
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive motion including but not limited to lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position
• Ability to wear required PPE for the role including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and protective arm and hand coverings
