This intern will work closely with the asphalt plant operations and support team, conducting research for areas of inefficiency. This intern will last from May to August of 2024.

　　RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Environmental Audits:

　　Assist in conducting environmental audits to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.

　　Review and analyze environmental records to ensure adherence to permits and regulations.

　　Waste Management:

　　Monitor and improve the plant's waste management processes, focusing on recycling and reducing waste generation.

　　Coordinate hazardous waste disposal and compliance with waste disposal regulations.

　　Sustainability Initiatives:

　　Participate in or lead sustainability projects, such as energy efficiency improvements, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction efforts.

　　Analyze and propose ways to reduce the environmental impact of asphalt production.

　　Environmental Impact Assessments:

　　Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments for plant expansions or new projects.

　　Evaluate the potential effects on the local ecosystem and community.

　　Report Generation:

　　Prepare reports summarizing the environmental performance of the asphalt plant.

　　Document progress on sustainability goals and environmental initiatives.

　　Research and Benchmarking:

　　Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging environmental technologies.

　　Benchmark the plant's environmental performance against industry standards.

　　Documentation and Record-Keeping:

　　Maintain accurate records of environmental data, reports, permits, and regulatory correspondence.

　　Assist in the organization and management of environmental documentation.

　　QUALIFICATIONS:

　　Preferred, currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines with an interest in construction.
