Summary This position is located within the U.S. Agency for Global Media, Voice of America, East Asia and Pacific Division. The incumbent will serve as an International Broadcaster- Radio, TV, and Journalist for the Khmer Service. The incumbent will be responsible for conceiving, planning, researching, writing, and broadcasting original audio/video scripts of a highly complex nature and for providing radio programs and new media. Responsibilities As an International Broadcaster (Multimedia) (Khmer), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to: Writes and reports original news and/or features and conducts interviews for the Service for radio and television broadcast and web publications. Prepares integrated, highly targeted, well-balanced scripts and production elements for broadcast and/or internet production. Participates in the development of regularly scheduled radio, television, and new media programs. Assists in resolving script, editing, audio loading, and computer equipment updating issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Khmer languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Understanding of radio, TV, Video, Internet broadcasting and publishing principles, and of original news-reporting and the tenants of journalism, Experience with audio editing, HTML, and web editing and design. Skills with computer systems, internet communications, and website technologies, applications, software, and database development. Knowledge of Cambodia, its history, economic culture, and socio-political development. Education Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
