Position : Internal Communications Manager

In concert with the Human Resources team, lead and develop internal communications strategies for employees. This includes planning and executing internal communications (newsletters, publications, web content, etc.). Manage a team of communications professionals who are responsible for developing and delivering human resources-related messaging to internal and/or external audiences through a variety of platforms. In partnership with the communications director, this position manages and develops content strategies for internal communication channels to effectively share information to DFA’s diverse audiences
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership to communications professionals able to perform independently or under minimum supervision
Develop, manage and deploy communication plans with a change management mindset in alignment with the level of impact
Manage employee communications’ reporting cadence and coaches direct reports on how to share data insights , implement, and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies
Work with the human resources department to develop an overarching employee communication strategy
Work with copywriting, design and project management communication teams to create targeted, employee-specific communications and maintain and update DFA’s intranet
Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
Manage ideas and content for stories for DFA’s employee newsletter, intranet and other communication pieces as needed
Collaborate with others on cross-divisional and cross-functional communications needs
Maintain and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Work with other leaders on the communication team to help drive overall brand messaging for the Cooperative
Perform management duties such as work delegation and review, performance management and development, technical direction and guidance, and mentoring and training. Hold direct reports accountable for results; work with them to cultivate their capabilities and utilize their strengths

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or closely-related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education required
2-5 years of experience managing people
5-10 years’ experience in communications
Certification and/or License – none
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of AP style
Able to write and edit within an organizational brand
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, for a diverse range of internal and/or external audiences
Able to think strategically and creatively
Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail

Able to adapt and manage to change effectively (i.e., be flexible)

Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
