Payroll & AR Assistant Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
AKE Safety Equipment is a market-leading fire safety equipment manufacturing and sales company. We are looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and detailed oriented to fill a Finance Associate position in Rochester, MN. We operate on a national scale, targeting customers who farm and reside in agriculturally productive areas of the U.S. Our Finance Associate will be responsible for providing financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate day to day transactions, as well as improve and update processes. They will assist in all areas of finance. This role requires quick adaptation to change and has the ability to keep the success and forward movement of the business as the ultimate top priority.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process bi-weekly payroll for 1099 commission payments to our independent sales reps.
Work closely with the customer service, sales, and manufacturing departments on order processing and payment collecting for all orders.
Processing of sales and refill orders in a timely manner
Monitor and data entry of checks, credit cards , and online payments into accounts receivable
Assist the Finance Manager in miscellaneous financial duties as assigned.
Assist finance department in filling, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory.
Office Supply ordering
Back-up to finance assistant for W-2 payroll processes and accounts payable processes.

Solid understanding of accounting processes, sales, customer service (the big picture)
Strong communication and writing skills.
Advanced skills in QuickBooks and Excel
Knowledge of Fishbowl (not required) would be a plus.
