  What does the role look like?

  As enabling partners, our communication and employee engagement function collaborates with teams across the organisation on a whole spectrum of initiatives and projects.

  In this role you will work alongside the Internal Communications and Employee Engagement senior officer to deliver clear, effective content to build employee awareness of initiatives such as wellness, compensation and benefits, onboarding, learning, training, career development, and employee engagement opportunities.

  Activities range from having the journalistic ability to source stories from our employees to helping organise one of our ‘employee engagement’ events such as awards ceremonies or inter-site sports tournaments!

  What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  Communications

  With our internal comms senior officer, maintain our internal communications plans and create & schedule content across our key internal channels including our employee app, digital screens, digital newsletter and monthly town hall meetings

  Work to increase readership / engagement with our communications channels

  Work in partnership with the EMEA Communications Lead to ensure effective flow down of all EMEA level communications and initiatives

  Partner with a range of stakeholder i.e. senior leaders, health and safety, facilities, HR, Legal, PR teams to craft messaging and narratives that contextualise day-to-day operations and goals with our broader corporate strategy, ensuring this is engaging and inspires and motivates all employees

  Partner with a range of stakeholders include C-suite leaders to craft critical / urgent communications and positively steer employees through change

  Promote / protect the Collins Aerospace brand in line with our values and best practice guidelines, to provide a consistent approach to local communications delivery

  Employee Engagement

  Delivering actions to increase employee participation in the employee engagement survey

  Analyse and communicate the results of our employee engagement surveys, and partner with the HR team and leaders to drive actions to improve employee satisfaction off the back of the feedback received

  Organise and promote employee engagement, and reward and recognition initiatives across all Actuation Systems UK sites

  With our internal comms senior officer, support the delivery of a number of annual events e.g. employee achievement awards, employee sports competitions, CSR activities etc.

  Come up with new and exciting ways we can engage, motivate, excite our employees through engagement and internal communications activities

  D,E&I

  Actively support our D,E&I agenda through pro-active collaboration with our employee resource groups.

  Help support, organise and promote the work of our employee resource groups’ activity to deliver impactful initiatives and foster collaboration and synergies amongst them

  Help promote local DE&I initiatives (e.g. Orange Campaign Wolverhampton, National Day of Employee Networks etc.), events, training and learning that will advance employees’ understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion

  Support delivery of DE&I presentations, awareness and training.

  What will you bring to the role?

  Essential skills:

  Previous experience of management / leadership in a communications or PR function

  Full understanding of best practice for managing employee engagement, and be experienced in developing a strategy for engagement and employee value propositions

  Excellent stakeholder management skills. You’ll be as comfortable talking to one of our factory workers on the shop floor as you will be working with those in the C-suite.

  Passionate about diversity, equity inclusion – we’re currently working on a number of D,E&I initiatives which will form a part of your role

  Desirable skills:

  Experience working with PR, HR and brand teams and building sound affinity with an employer brand

  A wide range of contacts in the community whether this be charities, journalists and key figures

  Familiarity with digital communications methods e.g. video and use of Adobe software (e.g. Photoshop, Premier Pro etc.) or a willingness to learn new skills in this space

  Resilient and have resolve to drive change and seek opportunity for improvements

  Ability to think creatively and wisely and apply your influential personality

  Experience of managing and delivering complex change communications

  Previous experience of writing, editing and creating content across multiple digital and face to face channels including internal news announcements, newsletters, MS Teams sites, all-employee surveys and online / face to face forums like town halls

  Proofreading skills are a must

  The journalistic ability to source stories from employees and around the business
