Location:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Description:
Within Internal Audit Services, our CHRR portfolio, which stands for Community Health, Human Resources, Revenue Cycle Management, and Research, encompasses a diverse set of business functions within Kaiser Permanente which provides a unique opportunity for interns to gain knowledge in different aspects of the organization. Our team conducts an array of risk-based internal audits (operational, compliance, and financial) on an annual basis which allows our internal auditors to build subject matter knowledge across all four areas. We dive into the opportunities that each of the four functions provide below to our candidates:
Community Health is at the core of our mission, which is to improve the health of the communities that we serve. Learn about the multitude of programs that provide access to care to patients who may not have coverage or need financial assistance, continuing education to aspiring medical professionals (physicians, pharmacists, therapists), and charitable grants and donations to organizations that help further the reach of Kaiser Permanente.
Human Resources is the backbone of our organization. People are our most important asset which speaks to the importance of Human Resources from attracting and retaining top talent, administering payroll, to managing employee benefits. With over 200,000 employees and clinicians within our organization, it takes an effective Human Resources function to hold us all together.
Revenue Cycle Management is the fuel that keeps the engine going within the organization. Revenue generated and collected allows the organization to pay for operating expenses (amongst other expenses) to keep our facilities open and clinicians employed to provide the high quality care that we are accustomed to. Learn how complex the revenue cycle continuum is starting from the time of scheduling, to collecting co-payments at check-in, receiving medical services, billing for services rendered, and collecting revenue.
Medical research represents the future of healthcare and how we as an organization continue to push the envelope with research projects and clinical trials in search of identifying more effective treatment regiments for our patients. Learn about the different types of research that is being conducted and how our innovative group of physicians, researchers, and administrators all work together towards making a better tomorrow.
Knowledge is power, especially early in one’s professional career and we strive to provide learning opportunities in a professional setting to each and every one of our interns.
