Syndicated Finance is a specialized commercial and industrial, commercial real estate, and specialty finance business financing capability typically secured by a company's assets as collateral and or personal guarantees of owners/senior management. Transactions may also be based on LTV and/or strong, recurring cash flow.
The Syndications Intern will assist with all efforts in the client engagement, transaction execution, and deal management cycles as Valley National Bank looks to build out this business. The role will interface with many Valley Bank constituents beyond Syndications including bankers, portfolio managers, credit risk executives, prospective clients, loan operations, and corporate marketing personnel. As the Syndications Intern you will:
Assist the buildout of a Loan Comparable transactions database.Conduct research on clients and prospects and assess syndications viability.Interact with bankers located in NY/NJ, FL, LA and Chicago regions on live transactions and marketing pitches.Interface with loan operations team members to ensure proper booking and maintenance of closed transactions.Partner and collaborate with credit professionals to produce written support of new or existing credit exposure.Participate in joint calls with business partners to gain client exposure, contextualize materials produced by you, and generally support Syndications across all business activity and functions.

Support your manager in performing research and/or analysis on specific topics.Independently complete tasks that contribute to larger projects relevant to the assigned department.Participate in meetings and team discussions to gain insight and contribute to the team's goals or projects.Communicate with team members and other departments to coordinate work, gather information and develop final work products.Join team building activities to establish cross functional relationships within the Valley community.Participate in VIP Mentorship Program meetings with your mentor to enhance your business acumen, network with senior leaders and develop technical and professional skills.Document and report on progress and results of projects and tasks.Attend professional development sessions/classes.Other Responsibilities:
Participate in VIP (Valley Intern Program) hosted events,trainings and projects includingValley Week of Service, Culture Workshops and final project presentations.Complete other related duties as assigned by the respective manager.Follow Company policies and procedures.
