　　POSITION SUMMARY:

　　Marathon Petroleum Company, LP has openings for Instrument Technician at its refinery in Garyville, LA. 

　　KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instruments and analyzers including transmitters, PLC systems, meters, and automatic valves. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

　　High School Diploma or GED is required

　　Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial instrumentation maintenance, process unit commissioning/startup, a combination of maintenance and process unit commissioning/startup or 3 years relevant experience which can include time spent attaining any formal Industrial Instrumentation Degree/Certification is required

　　Familiarity with basic instrument test equipment, loop drawings, logic diagrams, analyzers, pressure, temperature, level and flow instrumentation, control valves, control valve positioners, and other instrument technician practices and procedures is required

　　A valid driver's license is required

　　A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required upon hire

　　Performed maintenance or has work experience in the Chemical/Petrochemical or Refining Industries on Gas Chromatography Analyzers such as: Siemens Maxum or ABB Gas Chromatographs Honeywell Experion hardware, Honeywell TDC 3000 hardware, Triconex hardware, Allen Bradley hardware and Modbus via both serial and TCP/IP Continuous emission monitoring analyzers and analyzer sample systems preferred

　　PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

　　All Maintenance Craft positions work in various environmental conditions in the refinery.

　　This may include but is not limited to working indoors, such as maintenance shops, outdoors in open areas, process units, at heights and confined spaces with or without respiratory protection and limited mobility.

　　Must be able to stand, walk, lift and carry 50-pounds.

　　SAFETY:

　　Instrument Technicians work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check.SCHEDULE:

　　Technicians work either a four-ten schedule (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm) OR a rotating shift schedule. All applicants should be willing to work either schedule as assigned.

　　All technicians must be available for overtime as required.
