About Instructor/Assistant Professor

  Columbia University Research Psychologist

Seeking a full-time psychologist to join a multidisciplinary research team

Seeking a licensed psychologist to join a clinical research team at the Center for Neuroinflammatory and Somatic Disorders in the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry. The psychologist's role includes all aspects of clinical research, including project coordination, participant evaluation and monitoring, supervision of research assistants, data oversight, IRB communications, and paper and grant writing. Our Center research focus is on identifying novel treatments for patients with infection-triggered mood, cognitive, and somatic syndromes. Current and upcoming studies for individuals with persistent Lyme disease symptoms assess the impact of transauricular vagus nerve stimulation for fatigue, ketamine for depression, and transcutaneous direct current stimulation with cognitive remediation for brain fog. Other studies include fMRI assessment of central sensitization and a longitudinal prospective cohort study assessing clinical phenotype and biomarkers. This is an ideal position for an academically oriented clinician who is intellectually inquisitive, has experience in clinical research, and enjoys working collaboratively with a team to conduct quality science to shape international treatment guidelines. Our work combines a hybrid in-person and remote approach. Our Center and Department encourage ongoing education, with regular seminars and weekly Grand Rounds. Position is available in Winter of 2022 and Spring of 2023. Columbia University provides a generous benefits package. Please contact Brian Fallon, MD ([email protected]) and website () for more information.
