Work involves protecting cybersecurity assets and delivering cybersecurity incident detection, incident response, threat assessment, cyber intelligence, software security, and vulnerability assessment services. May provide guidance to others. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Work HoursThe position works an eight-hour schedule between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, 40-hour week, Monday Friday with occasional work schedule variance as necessary. Occasionally work overtime and/or additional hours. Hours may change based on business need.Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e., report to office one-three days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled as a Senior at an accredited four-year college or university, or a recent graduate within one year with major in cybersecurity, information technology security, computer engineering, computer information systems, computer science, management information systems, or a related field. Experience with Microsoft Excel Professional or academic experience in cybersecurity analysis, information security analysis, or analyzing security events.Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of experience supporting Anti-Virus, DLP, SIEM, systems/application scanning, network configuration and/or Windows/Linux servers.In this role you will: Assists in monitoring and analyzing cybersecurity alerts from cybersecurity tools, network devices, and information systems. Assists in monitoring and maintaining cybersecurity infrastructure and/or policies and procedures to protect information systems from unauthorized use. May provide support in performing cybersecurity incident detection, analysis, and prevention. May provide support in performing vulnerability scans of networks and applications to assess effectiveness and identify weaknesses. Assist with researching and analyzing cybersecurity threat indicators and their behaviors, and r commends threat mitigation strategies. Assist with researching cybersecurity and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts, and vulnerabilities. Assists in identifying and evaluating new cybersecurity technologies to remediate vulnerabilities. Assists in advising management and users regarding security procedures. May assist in implementing and maintaining enterprise security systems including Anti-Virus, DLP, SIEM systems, vulnerability scanners and security information management tools. May support in development and testing with security tools applied to information systems intended to protect against cyber threats. May support incident response activities including coordination of immediate corrective action to systems known to have any security weaknesses or vulnerabilities, including network isolation, re-configuration and installing appropriate patches or upgrades Assists with troubleshooting systems problems related to network, security, infrastructure and application information systems Works with team in monitoring sources of potential threats and vulnerabilities, including hacker web sites, anti-virus vendors, other government agencies and trade publications.
