ATHOL Inspector CB Job Description: Perform repetitive final inspectionduties to inspect a variety of special thickness gages, standards andend measuring rods primarily for dimensional accuracy. Setup and operateS.I.P., P & W measuring machines and Cat 712 Electronic Gaging Head toperform final inspection duties to a variety of standards to very closetolerances. Inspect tubular end measuring rods; Cat 137 and Cat 585Standards; inspect and adjust Cat 128 rods. Check Cat 20 solid squaresto a tolerance of .0001 per foot. Check grinding of a variety of specialorder thickness gages to very close tolerances. Allow rods, standardsand gages to remain in laboratory for sufficient time to temperatureseason. Avoid excessive handling to prevent distortion or faultymeasurements. Perform other final inspection duties requiring the sameor lesser skills during periods of inactivity in the laboratory.Determine reasons for rejects and attach rejection ticket. Maintain workarea in a clean and orderly manner. Refer unusual conditions tosupervisor.
