FTE: 0.001000 Shift: Shift 4 Job Summary: Followingestablished policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 2 performstechnical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual mayreceive, sort, compound, process and prepare medication orders under thesupervision of a pharmacist. They may prepare sterile products and willassist in the training of Pharmacy Intern 1. As the intern progresses,and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grantincreased responsibility. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCEPREFERRED: Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacyinternship program is preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Completion offirst year of a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree grantinginstitution. An equivalent first year completion in an accelerateddoctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution will beaccepted.TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Must complete a competency checklistwithin three months of completing orientation and trainingsessions.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to communicate effectivelywith other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritizeresponsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverseoutcomes.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Application for Wisconsin registrationas a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtainedwithin 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until3/31/24 to obtain registration.
