　　Simplot internships are designed to provide meaningful work experiences for students pursuing bachelor and master’s degree programs. All our internships are paid positions that are offered for a designated period. Each posting is unique with the duration and time commitment varied. Interns are assigned specific tasks to accomplish and are expected to participate in a variety of projects based on the business group. With these projects, interns can apply the skills and knowledge they are acquiring in school.

　　Innovation Intern

　　We are seeking a motivated and creative Innovation Intern to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Front-End innovation group to assist in the development of new food concepts by building and using consumer and industry insights. This role will sit within the Product Development department located the Simplot Technical Center in Caldwell, ID.

　　Key Responsibilities

　　Conduct research on consumer trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in the food industry. Generate, facilitate and analyze customer and consumer surveys

　　Assist in ideation and concept development for new food products. Support the creation of prototypes and assist in testing and refinement

　　Work closely with Marketing Insights to gather market insights and feedback for innovation platforms

　　Assist in the analysis of market data and consumer feedback to inform product decisions

　　Present project objective and key learnings to the Simplot Technical Center staff at the end of the internship

　　Typical Education

　　Must be currently enrolled in a college/university Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Technology, Culinary Science or a related field. May be enrolled in a Marketing or Business Analytics program with interest in the food industry.

　　Relevant Experience

　　Strong interest in food product development, consumer insights, and innovation

　　Excellent research and analytical skills

　　Experience with Design Thinking or other innovation methodologies a plus

　　Can work with minimal supervision

　　Good written and verbal communication skills

　　Strongly computer proficient (will be using Insights and Research tools); PowerBi a plus

　　Required Certifications

　　Valid Driver's license

　　40 hours/week, compensation based on year in school and academic years completed

　　This is a 12-week summer internship based in Caldwell, ID
