INFANT/ TODDLER TEACHER ASSISTANT GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time position responsible for assisting lead teachers with activities inside and outside of the classroom for children aged 0-3 years old. Activities include drafting lesson plans, gathering materials and supplies to prepare for daily activities, indoor/outdoor play, assisting with mealtimes (breakfast, lunch, and snacks), diapering, and assisting children upon arrival and departure. The employee fulfilling this job is expected to complete assignments with a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and timely completion of work. This position works under the direction of the lead teacher and Site Director.
INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible for ensuring that daily activities and interactions reflect the mission and goals of the program.Assist with the physical safety and emotional security of the children.Work together with the Lead Teacher as a team, in assisting with planning and implementing daily programming.Adhere to adult-to-child classroom ratios as set by daycare licensing.Create a clean, safe environment conducive to learning and promoting social relationships.Document anecdotal notes and daily reports for children.Communicate with parents daily.Assist with planning and implementation of educational activities for infants, and toddlers, including weekly lesson plans that specify the daily schedule, and achieve specific curriculum goals.Promote feelings of security and trust in infants and toddlers by being warm, supportive, and comforting, and by establishing strong and caring relationships.Maintain compliance with daycare licensing and DHHS regulations.Assist in ensuring that all health and developmental screenings are up to date.Ability and desire for personal and professional growth and skill development.Work to promote the success of the center by being supportive, flexible, and a team player.Adhere to center personnel policies.INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER ASSISTANT PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
