About Industrial Maintenance Technician - Indianapolis, IN

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced technical support and expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation (IA) business unit. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring the successful implementation of our solutions, and driving customer satisfaction. Your expertise and commitment to excellence will play a crucial role in the success of our field service operations and the growth of our business. You will report directly to our Field Service Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Spartanburg, SC location. In this role, you will impact the efficiency, productivity, and safety of our customers' operations by providing exceptional technical support and service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for customers.

Provide expert-level technical support for our Industrial Automation (IA) solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of solutions.

Lead training sessions for customers and field service technicians.

Stay informed about industry trends and advancements, offering suggestions for improvements.

Have hands-on experience with PLC systems, sensors, motors, inverters, control panels, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.

Conduct both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.

Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to report work orders and provide breakdown data.

Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as conveyor systems, sortation systems, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS).

Adjust and maintain scanners, cameras, field buses, and printer applicators.

Reset, repair, or replace adjustable parts (belts, chains, cables) and wear components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys).

Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment as required.

Follow job plans, procedures, and manuals for efficient service.

Maintain and troubleshoot a range of components, including motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, and encoders.

Assist with basic troubleshooting of electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices

Perform maintenance and troubleshoot all types of industrial robots.

Utilize mobile devices and asset management systems to create and close work orders, logging relevant data (labor hours, downtime, causes, solutions, and parts used).

Follow safety protocols (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensure a safe working environment.

Adhere to company standards, operating procedures, and safety regulations.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ability to lift 25 pounds individually and 50 pounds as a two-person team,

The ability to work above your head for extended period of time while standing, laying, or seated (e.g., 30mins). The ability to lift weights listed above your head.

The ability to move safely in confined spaces which may require crawling on hands and knees.

The ability to safely climb / descend / work on ladders and stairs frequently.

YOU MUST HAVE

At least 2 years of relevant experience or education in Material Handling Equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and mechanical troubleshooting/maintenance/installation.

Strong technical expertise in Industrial Automation technologies.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

WE VALUE

A degree from a vocational school or college in the Mechanical or Electrical field.

Experience maintaining conveyor systems.

Familiarity with Honeywell Intelligrated Conveyor Systems.

Proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical, and Motor Controls troubleshooting.
