What you’ll do
Ensures that all international shipments adhere to U.S. government agency regulations.
Interfaces with internal departments and customer base to ensure that proper charges, methods of shipment, and packaging are utilized for the transfer of orders from the factory to the ultimate customer destination. Provides status and delivery information on such movements.
Conducts routine audits of provider’s invoices to ensure that invoices are accurate and fall within company guidelines.
Has full knowledge of current import and export regulations.
Coordinates shipments with freight forwarders and truckers for both international and domestic orders.
Establishes order files on all international and domestic machine and parts orders while maintaining and updating same.
Assists Manager with key projects which will improve the overall efficiency of the department.
Oversees logistics requirements for “off-site” manufacturing facilities.
Responsible for all aspects of letters of credit shipments which include communicating with freight forwarders, creation of required documents, presentations to financial institutions and collection of funds from banks.
Coordinates with internal departments and overseas offices to ensure that orders are approved for shipment within company timeframe and accounting parameters.
What you’ll bring
Knowledge of Traffic and Export management normally acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Traffic Management or Distribution.
Administrative and organizational skills needed for coordinating activities of several functions normally acquired through at least 3 - 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in international logistics.
Ability to manage all aspects of documentation processing, incoming and outgoing shipments, customer interface and service provider relations.
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively and discuss complex policies with other company personnel and service providers.
Computer proficient.
Highly organized and detailed orientated.
