Job Description:This position will be based in Vacherie, LA and successful candidate will be required to live within 30 minutes of Vacherie. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing. This position is responsible for installing and maintaining electrical and instrumentation components and control systems associated an anhydrous ammonia pipeline and control center operations.
Duties include:
•Working with AC and DC equipment as well as low and high voltage electricity.
•Performing equipment diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades.
•Regulatory and safety compliance inspections.
•Housekeeping.
•Pipeline right-of-way maintenance.
•Emergency response activities.
•Maintenance tasks (75%).Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree or technical school degree is preferred.
Previous electrical experience is preferred.
Ability to use various power and hand tools is required.
Willingness and availability to answer and respond to after-hour calls 24-hours per day/7-days per week is required.
Ability to work independently and unsupervised is required.
Experience with anhydrous ammonia is preferred.
Familiarity with safe hot work practices, confined space regulations, DOT pipeline safety devices and safe electrical practices is required.
Experience working with industrial operating and control systems is preferred.
Willingness to travel and stay in hotels for extended projects and work at remote locations is required.
Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
Ability to develop and install basic electrical systems is preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley, Omni, Modicon, Quantum, Satellite Communications Systems and Rosemount I/P systems is preferred.
Ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot I/E schematics is preferred.
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code guidelines is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical materials, i.e., blueprints, manuals alignment sheets, etc. is preferred.
This position will require an individual to hold a valid driver’s license.
This position will require an individual to hold a TWIC card.
When a higher-level position exists candidates with greater qualifications may be considered for the position.
