Description:
Located in Clayton, North Carolina, is the design headquarters for construction equipment used in building residential and commercial infrastructure. Backhoe Loaders, Hydraulic Excavators, Small Bulldozers, and Skid Steer Loaders are some of the machines designed and validated by the engineers and technicians located at the Clayton Machine Development Center. The CMDC hydraulics team is looking for a motivated individual to help with hydraulic component and system development for these machines. The mission of the team is to provide value to our global customers both internally and externally by helping design, develop, understand, optimize, test, validate, and support hydraulic systems.
As an engineer in the Hydraulic Component Team, you will be responsible for interfacing with suppliers and working with other personnel to provide hydraulic component solutions for all of the Building Construction Product families. You will be expected to develop expertise in all of the different types of hydraulic components used on machines. You will assist in solving technical problems while growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will also continue to grow your professional network.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
* * Technical 2 year associates degree or equivalent mobile hydraulics experience
3-5 years minimum relevant mobile hydraulics engineering work experience or service of off-highway construction hydraulic systems
Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
• Hydraulic Component CAD maintenance
• Interfacing with hydraulic component suppliers to understand the design, fabrication, and use of their components
• Developing new hydraulic system and component solutions for the mobile equipment mentioned above
• Overseeing the detailing and releasing of engineering drawings for the hydraulic components you are responsible for
• Researching and exploring new technology
• Developing original or innovative approaches to engineering design, cost reduction, and problem solving.
• Promoting quality and continuous improvement philosophy
• Deepening your knowledge base of Caterpillar products, technologies, processes, services, and systems
• Organizing and prioritizing work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time.
