A Journeyman HVAC Sheet Metal Worker installs, operates, maintains, and repairs HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) systems, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors. Sheet Metal Workers are trained in testing, adjusting, and stabilizing mechanical systems as well as servicing them. Workers will use mathematics and pattern layout development methods to build drawings to be used.

The pay rate for this job is $22 - $35 / hour
Responsibilities:
Outside air units, air handling units, energy recovery units, and fan coil units
Chilled water and condensate drain piping, and associated insulation
Air distribution fans, gravity vents, dampers, duct heaters and terminal units
Double wall ovals, spirals, rectangular duct, and duct returns
Sheetmetal Insulation
Assemble, hang, and install duct systems
Installation of accessories such as VAVs, VRV's, duct wrapping, fire dampers, control dampers, take-offs
Installation of trapeze pipe hangers for copper chill water lines
Set hangers, roof curbs, and wall sleeves
Measure and cut sheet metal by hand or with tools
Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips
Understand and comply with Florida Building Code and Safety Rules
Follow blueprints to determine project requirements such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or material
Qualifications:
OSHA 10 Construction Certification
Lift & Fall Protection Certifications
OSHA Basic Plus
DISA Certification as needed
