　　University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors is seeking a HVAC Estimator for our San Diego, CA office. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.

　　Compensation Range: $86,000. to $105,000.

　　ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Note: This is not intended to be neither a detailed nor comprehensive description on any individual employee’s job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.

　　Bid document review, pre-bid meetings, client interface, quantity takeoff, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing, spreadsheet input and proposal preparation. Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software. Experience with Quote Express or other on-screen estimating software is desired. Duties also include on site and/or In-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget. Estimator will also interface with UMEC’s construction project teams and CAD detailing staff. Must have knowledge regarding safety, worker’s compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

　　COMPUTER SKILLS

　　Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Internet, Lotus Notes, and QuoteExpress windows-based piping and sheet metal estimating systems.

　　Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs

　　Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years mechanical construction experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types.

　　LANGUAGE SKILLS

　　Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
